On July 19, 2017, the Federal Emergency Management Agency‘s (FEMA) National Earthquake Technical Assistance Program (NETAP) will present a 1.5 hr webinar training on the importance of building codes for earthquake and disaster risk reduction.
Building codes are regulations governing design, construction, alteration, and maintenance of structures, and are the foundation for community resilience. The webinar will provide an overview of earthquake effects on buildings and underline the importance of code adoption and enforcement.
