CUSEC’s primary mission is, “… the reduction of deaths, injuries, property damage and economic losses resulting from earthquakes in the Central United States.” To accomplish mission,we have four major goal areas that we actively pursue. Those goals are:
– Public Outreach and Education
– Mitigation
– Multi-state Planning
– Research
CUSEC serves as a coordinating hub for the region, working with our Member States to accomplish our mission and goal areas. Our coordinating role is largely facilitative and not as the primary implementer of emergency management functions which is the responsibility of each individual state, however we do have many active programs within the organization.
